What we do

The Dante Alighieri Society serves as a fundamental point of
reference for preserving and promoting Italian language and culture.

Dante Alighieri Cape Town, located in the heart of the city,
runs Italian courses of all levels, organizes cultural events and
offers a DVD and book library service with a large selection of
Italian language movies and literature.

The school is also authorized to provide PLIDA exam sessions (for official
language certificates such as A2 for long term residency in Italy or B1 for citizenship).

Courses – currently online – are conducted in an informal, fun and
interactive setting, and are aligned with the Common European
Framework of Reference for Languages.

• Dynamic, enthusiastic, experienced and highly qualified teachers
• A focus on real-life communication
• Exposure to a variety of enjoyable cultural events
• Our rich multimedia library
• Communicative approach: our classes are proficiency driven, therefore
we provide our students with as many opportunities as possible to speak
Italian and listen to spoken Italian

Each level is taught over eleven weeks, terms typically start in January, April,
July and October following the South African school calendar broadly.

Dante Alighieri Cape Town is run by an all Italian team and courses are taught
only by qualified Italian mother-tongue teachers.
