What we do

The Dante Alighieri Society serves as a fundamental point of
reference for preserving and promoting Italian language and culture.

Dante Alighieri Cape Town, located in the heart of the city,
runs courses of Italian at all levels, organises cultural events and
offers a dvd and book library service.

The school is also authorised to offer PLIDA exams sessions (for official language certificates such as B1 for citizenship).

Courses – currently all online – are conducted in a informal, fun and
interactive atmosphere, and are aligned with the Common European
Framework of Reference for Languages.

• Dynamic, enthusiastic, experienced and highly qualified teachers
• A focus on real-life communication
• Exposure to a variety of enjoyable cultural events
• Our rich library and video library
• Communicative approach: our classes are proficiency driven, therefore
we provide our students with as many opportunities as possible to speak
Italian and listen to spoken Italian
Each level is taught over eleven weeks, terms generally start in January, April, July and October.

Dante Alighieri Cape Town is run by an all Italian team and courses are taught only by mother tongue Italian qualified teachers.
